Stop eating fake foods

Cheerios Protein

When health conscious people hear that they need to add more protein or fibre to their diets, many will go to the supermarket and load up on pre made packaged foods. More often than not, these fake health foods are loaded with sugar, e-numbers and chemical stabilising agents. What many people don’t realise is that sugar is often listed under different names, such as cane juice, coconut crystals, organic agave nectar syrup, fructose, etc.

Foods that say, fat free, sugar free, high fiber, organic, and gluten-free can still make you fat, and because these products appear healthy, they’re often easier to rationalise eating in excess. What is frustrating is they don’t do anything other than give the consumer the impression that they’re being good dieters. Foods such as, Slim Fast, Special-K protein shakes and protein cereal, Weetabix protein cereal, Kind Bars, Fiber One “protein” bars and pretty much all cereal bars are just junk food masquerading as healthy options.

Anyone looking for protein at the supermarket should stick with meat and eggs, and then get their fiber from veggies.
